An IKEA Elevated Hack – The Farlov Series

I have an easy IKEA hack for those of you who love the Farlov Series!

I instantly fell in love with this collection as it mimicked a much higher end brand.

The idea that it was slipcovered was a big bonus since I chose the white. The deep cushions were a perfect fit for our family room.

But once I got them home and lived with them for a while, I knew I needed to alter them to fit my style.  So I began researching different things to elevate their look and feel.

The first thing I reasearched was a taller leg.  I found a gorgeous set of replacement legs on Amazon.Com . They were an 8″ Weathered Oak Wood Tepered Leg (with a 5/16″ Bolt – a perfect fit for the Farlov). This quick update easily changed the look from 6″ to 8″ at under $33.00 with free shipping.

Next I knew I wanted a different feel, so I partnered up with Bemz Design to order 100% Linen slipcovers.  The online process was very quick and efficient.  I chose some fabric samples that were sent to me and then narrowed it down to the Brera Lino Collection in Natural.

These slipcovers are machine washable, the feel is so luxurious, but practical at the same time because Bemz Design slipcovers are machine washable! They fit my Farlov like a glove! My next set will be a velvet for the Fall and Winter. Stay tuned!

So now I have a customized look and feel.  My pieces are about 2 inches taller, and the fabric is a luxurious pure linen that’s machine washable.

Lastly I adorned my set with matching Bemz Design cushion covers in the same fabric, and mixed in a custom made Leather Tassled Pillow from Zig Zag Studio Design, as well as an authentic African mud cloth throw from Shop My Haven Home.

I absolutely love how they turned out and can’t wait to order a set for my IKEA Stocksund chairs!
