Happy New Year!
My resolution this year is to focus on the simple things like being more balanced, decluttered and better health.
What better place to start than our bedroom. Especially after all the festivities, hosting, late nights, and second helpings, I wanted to create a wonderful haven to retreat to at the end of the day.
Once all the Christmas decor was put away, I had a blank slate to work with. So the interior designer in me started with the first “R” REFRESH.
Fresh new textiles in a neutral palette like my Buffalo Check duvet cover from BALLARD DESIGNS that slipped over my luxurious down alternative comforter from LAVISH COMFORTS . This comforter is washable, hypoallergenic and enables me to change up my bedding anytime.
On to my next “R” Restyle. This is where the decluttering came into play, so I simplified the decor and kept a few of my favorite pieces like my stools, and blanket ladder. Then added some live greenery which not only adds a pop of color but also aids in purifying the air, a double bonus!
Lastly, the final “R”, the most important one for me, Renew! A renewal of mind, body and soul. Of course, that includes better eating habits, exercising but it also included rest. No matter how beautifully styled a bedroom is, it means nothing if you’re not getting a good night’s sleep.
Well not only did I accomplish a good night’s sleep, but for me I found the perfect sleep. One thing I forgot to mention that was also “Restyled” was our mattresses!
